Subsurface remediation systems built by IMT are considered to be some of the best in the country. IMT specializes in equipment used to remediate soil and groundwater impacted by contaminates such as petroleum hydrocarbons, solvents and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Selecting the appropriate air pollution control equipment for a particular remediation project can be challenging to say the least. Many applications can utilize either catalytic oxidizer or thermal oxidizer technologies. However, one may break the bank and the other may not. To select the proper technology, it is important to understand how each system destroys VOC.
A thermal oxidizer destroys hazardous, toxic chemical waste by oxidizing (breaking the bonds of the hydrocarbon), at high temperature, the emissions contained in a waste air stream.
Catalytic oxidizers destroy VOCs in the same way, but the presence of catalyst allows the destruction to occur at a lower temperature (usually 600-650F). The goal is to heat the VOCs to the reacting temperature, but to achieve this temperature; the entire air stream must be heated to the reaction temperature.
Our oxidizer systems offer the flexibility to be configured to meet your specific project needs and objectives. We can provide a system that is interlocked and controlled by a single control panel. IMT's remediation equipment can be provided with either trailer or skid mounted packages and offer the ultimate in safety, control and ease of operation for your thermal or catalytic oxidizer.
